I’ve lost track on which house project we’re on….but today I’m sharing the details on our bar cart/coffee station and how to style it! We ordered this bar cart from Target and knew it would fit the vibe of our kitchen perfectly. The walls throughout the main living area are painted grey and I thought the white smoked mirror look would fit in perfectly with our modern farmhouse decor!
We also decided to add a coffee station because this baby is BIG. Matt and I are both huge coffee drinkers and we needed an upgrade during this “stay at home” situation so we bought a KitchenAid Nespresso Machine. We also added the milk frother to make lattes (which are my favorite!) and it all fits comfortably on top of the bar cart.
In addition to storing our wine bottles, wine glasses and coffee maker having this cart also provides an additional workspace! Our kitchen is on the smaller side so it’s nice to have more counter space, especially once people start coming over again. We placed it next to our pantry separate from the cooking area to optimize our small space!
How To Style Your Bar Cart
- Use items that vary in height to give your bar cart dimension. I have our Nespresso Machine on one side, so to balance it out I added a vase on the other side. Place decorative items on the top shelf to give your bar cart some personality! (You can even hang a mirror or piece of art over the cart depending on your space.)
- Use kitchen items to decorate your cart. I used rose colored acrylic glasses (for iced coffees/drinks) white plates, a cookbook and a marble cheese board to decorate my cart. These items are not only practical but they will make your bart cart look beautiful!
- Make a Pinterest board! I can’t tell you how many times I needed to reference Pinterest to figure out exactly what color scheme and style I wanted. Use these tools to determine your style, what items you want on your cart (ex. if you don’t want a coffee station, what about a bartending set?) then start to purchase the items you need to make your bart cart “you”!
I purchased our wine glasses from West Elm and they are absolutely stunning. I’ve never had a wine glass so beautiful, not even at a restaurant! The cart itself is made from metal and the shelving is glass, so it’s extremely sturdy and makes everything look sleek and modern.
